There have been times I’ve doubted you, America. Hell, there have been times when I’ve made snide remarks behind your back, times where I’ve said some pretty terrible things about your government, your President and sometimes yes, I’ve said some pretty bad things about the southern part of your country while flailing my arms around and pretending to ride a horse while shooting my finger-guns into the air (yeehaw!).

Today, I broke my promise of avoiding political discourse by tuning into CNN (because truthfully, the most political I get is watching TDS and TCR) and because of this, I saw history being made in more ways than I can count. Thank you to every single one of you who voted for Barack Obama. Listening to his speech, seeing him kiss his wife and children, watching him shake Biden’s hand… It was inspiring. It was a triumph. It was epic fucking win.

President Barack Obama… :)

You guys should be very, very proud.

EDIT: To all the Republican’s who are threatening to leave the US behind, be it in jest or not, I would just like to inform you that Australia doesn’t want you. Good luck in your search for a new home!

I’m too angry about this to post an articulate entry on this matter, so you’re going to have to simply deal with my blather.

The Federal Government is pushing to force ISPs to censor our Internet with ISP-based filters. It’s just another way to waste a huge amount of tax-payer dollars and another way to take away our freedom.

I live in Australia, not China and there is no way I am willing to take this sitting down. I urge you to read No Clean Feed and judge for yourself, and if you’re like me and think this is a truck load of bullshit, I implore you to contact your local MP.

While you’re at it, contact Stephen Conroy and tell him he has it wrong. This filter won’t stop the children from seeing boobs or hearing the f-word and it won’t stop the pedophiles from getting their child porn. What it will do is force the ISPs to bump up their plan prices and slow down our already below average speeds.
